Insulation
Here's what my attic looks like - that's now about 16" of insulation, with a raised catwalk to the back (it's for me, not the cats). I added raised docks for storage of holiday decorations and the like. The docks are 2x4 frames situated over structural walls to keep the load off any spans.
The extra layer of insulation was a great investment - the house stays cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
Next project? A vent that moves warm attic air down into the crawlspace on cool days.

Seasons for Kindle
I recently purchased a Kindle Touch, and found that my Fanfictions were not very easy to read on the Kindle's browser, so I decided to try to format them for the new platform. I think they came out pretty good.
1. Right click on: Seasons_Kindle.zip and save the .zip archive somewhere memorable, like your desktop.
2. Unzip the archive. You'll have a file called "The Ranma 1_2 Seasons Stories - Joseph Palmer.mobi".
3. Attach your kindle via USB, then drag the "The Ranma 1_2 Seasons Stories - Joseph Palmer.mobi" to the documents folder on your kindle.
4. Disconnect from USB and enjoy Seasons for Kindle.

Happy New Years
Each year this is the first ornament we place on the tree, and it's the first to come down. It was a gift in our wedding year, and started our tradition of finding ornaments that mark events (mostly vacations) from each year.
